COVER STORY: JANUARY 2014: BEYONCE KNOWLES

Queen B, Sasha Fierce, Honey B, she has many names and on the 13th December 2013 she released an unadvertised album that smashed Lady Gaga's 'ARTPOP', Katy Perry's 'Prism', and Lorde's 'Pure Heroine' right from the number one spotlight in over 72 countries, proving that being a Mum to a beautiful newborn baby to an equally successful rap artist doesn't mean that you can't have an equally successful and world-dominating career. Ladies & Gentlemen Beyonce is back.

She's been gone a little while, or so we all thought. With a group and solo career under her belt, five amazing albums, including some record-breaking singles, oh and did I mention a Superbowl performance that caused a power surge: it's no wonder that they call her Queen B. It all began back in the early two-thousands, she was part of a trio that was the basis of her success known as Destiny's Child (those girls were fierce). Later on, moving towards a solo career that in my opinion was fiercer than her trio with Kelly and Michelle. Her best and most iconic work in my opinion: I Am Sasha Fierce with four massive single releases from the album including 'Halo', 'If I Were A Boy' and yep you guessed it, the one that EVERYONE dances to whilst drunk at weddings 'Single Ladies' (don't deny it, you've done the dance to this song at some point). Her latest album 'BeyoncĂ©' is visual, as well as audibly stunning. She released the album without any advertisements or promotion to make a point: people are only interested in the single on their iPod, which is so true, people don't buy albums or records anymore, it's easier to download it on your iPhone from iTunes and it's just there ready to play, no ripping and uploading, it's the end of an era, but hey, I would totally buy any artists album if there were some added unique pieces to it (it totally worked in this case).

Her style? Gorgeous, glamorous, flattering, iconic. She's been the cover girl for countless fashion magazines including Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, W, InStyle, The Gentlewoman, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan (not many can boast about that on their curriculum vitae). My favorite look from the singer has got to be the Osman black and white jumpsuit she wore to the 2013 Grammy Awards: which was so different from the looks other celebrities were gracing on the red carpet, or for that matter so different to any other looks she's pulled off on all other red carpets (I mean a jumpsuit on a red carpet, such a ballsy and genius move). This girl gets fashion and whether she's walking down the street or walking down the red carpet, it's clear she knows what she's doing, but in my opinion, it's the looks that she pulls off in the everyday hustle and bustle of life walking down the streets, on her way to work, it's the street style looks that inspire me the most and make me think, damn this girl got style because let's face it, whether you're a thirty-two-year-old, multi-million dollar selling singer with a beautiful new baby or just an everyday person with hopes of making those dreams a reality, you can be anyone in the world, be a Mum, a single lady, a diva or a simple girl who loves music and still has amazing style.
